The merchant is unlocked by completing the merchant quest. The merchant offers 3 trades at a time. To refresh the merchant trades you must send them away for 24 hours. Alternatively, you can drink the Merchant Speed Potion to instantly refresh the merchant trades after sending them away. The potion must be drank before sending the merchant. If you complete all 3 merchant trades you will still need to send the merchant away to refresh their trades.
The Thiefs mask gives you a 20% chance of keeping your items when trading.
