The *purple guardian key*, also known as the g3 key, is used to fight Faradox Guardian 3 and used in combination with a Guardian 1 key and Guardian 2 key to fight the Guardian Trio in the Castle Dungeon Tomb.
Purple guardian keys can be obtained by defeating purple guradian key holders. The purple guardian key holder is unlocked at the end of castle floor one.
Purple guradian key holders
The purple guardian key holder becomes a random blood zone zone mob every 12 hours. The rarity that the mob will drop the purple key at is also random taking any of the values; common, uncommon, rare and very rare. The drop rate for different rarities is not known but it is suspected that common is around a 1/10 chance per loot roll.
Key farming strategies
The general aim here is kill the guardian key holder as quickly as possible to get as many kills with as few monster select potions as possible. As such, there are 3 qualities to look for in a guradian key holder.
- Common rarity
- The holder is a Blood Fields mob. More fights can be done for fewer fight points.
- The holder can be killed quickly. It has low hp and/or does high damage to reflect.
Common blood fields spider and common blood fields bee are therefore ideal mobs to farm for guardian 3 keys. Due to low frequency of getting such ideal mobs however, any common or even uncommon fields mob may be considered. Common forest mobs can also give good returns, for example; blood ants can be killed very quickly when reflecting their very high damage special.
A common monster from any zone will do if you have a combat orb activation available and monster loot potion to get 20 key rolls.
Due to usefulness of g3 keys and the difficulty in getting them, it is advisable to save stardust watch charges and combat dust potions for guardian key holders that can be easily farmed for keys.
Guardian key farming loadout
- Poisoned rapier. Ideally golden.
- Reaper robes (+Magic ring if possible). Spamming fire to kill the mob as quickly as possible.
- Defender. Important thing here is no extra defense if you can get away with it. Reflecting hits means that the mob will die more quickly.

There are a couple of scripts that can help farm mobs
- IdlePixel Keybinds - GodofNades Fork: Setting a keybind for the zone you are farming can help fight more mobs per monster select pot. Setting the keybind to the same key as your fire spell will let you spam one key to farm mobs.
- |IdlePixel UI Tweaks - GodofNades Fork: This can be used to put a notification of the current purple key mob in the main notification area. It can be easy to miss what the current mob is and this saves you from having to go to the castle to check.
